Meet Hannah Hopkins

Hannah Hopkins

MS, LPC

Hi, my name is Hannah. I provide a safe space in counseling to walk alongside clients as we develop a therapeutic relationship to help clients navigate through life stressors, challenges, and crises to improve overall well being. I have a Masters degree in Counselor Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health counseling. I recently moved to the Lafayette area while starting a family of my own to be closer to home after working in the Baton Rouge community for the past 4 years.

I’ve had the privilege of working as the clinical director for an adolescent residential treatment facility and intensive outpatient programs for both adolescents and adults, The Maples and Genesis Behavioral Health. During this time, I was able to work with adolescents, adults, families, and couples at the residential, IOP, and outpatient levels of care on an individual basis in addition to group settings. I have experience working with clients with a variety of presenting issues including depression, anxiety, non suicidal self injury, suicidal ideation, relationship difficulties, stress management, anger, and low self esteem. I believe in helping clients to feel empowered to reach their desired potential and create a life worth living for themselves.

I have a background in Applied Behavioral Analysis and enjoy working with adolescents, young adults and their families with an Autism Spectrum diagnosis. My approach to counseling is to meet each individual client where they are at based on their needs, however, I mainly work from a strengths based and relational perspective to help clients implement change outside the therapy sessions and identify ways to improve well being with a holistic mindset.

Taking the first step to ask for help is huge, and I would be privileged to be a part of your counseling journey. I create a safe, welcoming environment for all clients to feel understood and heard.
