Meet Mollee Helmick

Mollee Helmick

BS, Counseling Intern

Throughout our lives, we may experience times when we feel completely alone, unheard, or invisible. During these times, having just one person to meet you where you are, listen, and instill a motive for personal growth; can change everything. I would like to be that person for you!

Hi! My name is Mollee Helmick, and I am a Lafayette native. I graduated in December of 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Being the proud Ragin Cajun that I am, I returned to ULL in pursuit of a masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am currently a counseling intern.

I work with children as young as 3 years old, adolescents, individual adults, couples, and families. With a background in elementary school teaching, I have a passion for helping children and adolescents grow in developing healthy peer relationships, increasing emotional regulationand navigating life’s challenges. My approach to therapy is centered heavily on the therapeutic relationship while also incorporating creative and evidenced based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, Art Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.

I am committed to helping others reach their goals through person-centered counseling. My goal is to create a warm, non-judgmental environment for you. I am collaborative in my approach and tailor my counseling to the unique needs of my clients.

I believe living a life you love is crucial to mental wellness. That is why when I am not counseling I incorporate activities in my daily routine that I enjoy! I especially love finding a way to fit in a pickleball game, bike ride, or a sunset walk. I also highly value a sense of community. Time spent with my family and friends or in my school, work, and church communities are extremely important. Activities such as these never fail to put a smile on my face!

If you are interested in scheduling an appointment with me, please do not hesitate to reach out!
